Today,
people live busy lives. We spend a lot of time outside
and sometimes we don¡¯t even have time to eat dinner with our family members. In fact, we often eat out, even on the weekends.
This is because eating at a restaurant is simpler and easier. You
can also taste all kinds of food at
different restaurants. You don¡¯t need to wash the dishes, either. However, some people
prefer homemade food. So, what do
you prefer - homemade food or restaurant food? Here, Harry and his
mother are talking about the topic.
Harry: Mom, I¡¯m hungry. Let¡¯s go out to
eat some delicious pancakes!
Mom: I can make you homemade pancakes.
Just a moment.
Harry: Can¡¯t we just eat out? It takes
a lot of time for you to prepare pancakes. Plus, we
don¡¯t have many ingredients at home. The
pancake place has a whole variety of pancakes.
Mom: When I¡¯m not busy, I want to make
you homemade food. You see, homemade food is healthier than restaurant
food.
Harry: What do you mean?
Mom: I only use fresh, healthy ingredients
when I cook and I don¡¯t use any artificial flavoring. But
some restaurants use unhealthy ingredients. They also use artificial
seasoning to make their food
taste better. Sometimes, they even use stale ingredients!
Harry: But there are good things about
eating out. You don¡¯t have to go grocery shopping and carry heavy shopping bags.
Also, it takes a lot of time and effort for you to cook food.
In addition, you have to clean the kitchen and wash the dishes. If
we eat out, your life will be a lot easier. Don¡¯t you think so, mom?
Mom: Well, thanks for thinking about
my hardship. You are right in some ways, but I don¡¯t
want to feed you unhealthy food that
contains a lot of artificial
seasoning. Plus, I¡¯m happy when I cook for my family, even though it is hard labor.
Harry: Ok, then I will help you whenever
you cook for us. I will bring you some eggs and flour. I will also wash the
dishes after finishing my meal! |
