has been obvious for some time that
South Korea holds a key position in the information technologysector. Recently, it was
revealed that South Korea
has the fastest Internet speed in the whole world.
The famed U.S. economics magazine
Fortune published this news on January
23 in its special ‘Internet edition.’ The survey was conducted by
Akamai’s State of Internet, the world’s biggest content delivery network,
which is based in the U.S.
According to the survey, the Internet speed in South Korea is 14 megabits
per second, which is seven
times faster than the world average. The world average
Internet speed was 1.9 megabits per second as of September 30, 2010.
The report also said that the spread of variouswireless gadgets such as
smartphones and tablet PCs explains the recent 20 percent
jump in the number of devices linked to the Internet. Hopefully
South Korea will continue to stay on top and become the
strongest power in the IT world.
