Maldives is made up of several charming islands that dot the Indian Ocean. These Islands are surrounded by colorful coral reefs. These coral reefs make each island a gem in the Indian Ocean. Countless tourists visit Maldives every year to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

The official language is Dhivehi. But English is the main language of communication in Maldives. The weather in Maldives varies all throughout the year. Maldives has mainly two distinct seasons: the wet season and the dry season. Traditional Maldives food is based on coconuts and fish. People in the country use coconut milk as an essential ingredient when cooking. Fish is another main item of in of Maldives.

Sadly, due to global warming and rising seawater levels, Maldives is in a dangerous situation. The island country is slowly sinking. Scientists have predicted that Maldives may be swallowed up by the waters of the Indian Ocean one day if the current climate change continues.
