From time to timeawfulincidents happen around schools,
which is why Seoul city has decided to organize school guardians in elementary schools.
This month Seoul city is planning to select a total of 1,094 guardians.
Two school guardians will be deployed in every elementary
school in Seoul starting from March this year. The mainjob of the guardians will
be to make sure school kids are
safe when they come to school and go back home.
They will also patrol around the schools
and prevent incidents such as
school violence and kidnappings from happening.
The two guardians will take turns while they are
on duty and stay at the school for a total of 16 hours from 6 a.m.
to 10 p.m. from Monday to Saturday. In addition, Seoul city is
considering positioning school guardians
in secondary schools by 2014.
